Formed up to 66 million years ago by a unique process called pyritization ~ through stillness the original shell is slowly replaced by iron pyrite, resulting in a shimmering, metallic gold appearance. Ammonite Pyrite is considered a stone of stability and grounding which benefits the root or base chakra.
